AS REPRESENTAÇÕES DO CAVALEIRO MEDIEVAL NO HERÓI INDIANISTA

Abstract

Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar as representações do cavaleiro medieval no herói indianista e fazer uma aproximação entre dois romances românticos: Ubirajara e Eurico, o presbítero, como forma de verificar as características que os assemelham e diferenciam um do outro. Nessas narrativas, procuraremos evidenciar os principais fatos que são peculiares nos heróis da idade média, como: moralidade, fidelidade, justiça, força e valentia. O referente tema está sendo abordado por representar uma parte da história cultural brasileira no período Romântico, explicitado em José de Alencar e comparado a Alexandre Herculano da literatura portuguesa. O trabalho foi elaborado, através de pesquisas bibliográficas, para dar sustentação e veracidade aos conteúdos apresentados. Nessa perspectiva, a representação indígena no romance “Ubirajara” vem ressaltar a fase em que o Brasil passou a engrandecer sua cultura e a busca por identidade nacional torna-se o principal objetivo, e o índio é o nosso cavaleiro medieval. ____________________________________________________________________________ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the representations of the medieval knight in indianista hero and make a connection between two romantic novels: Ubirajara and Eurico, the priest, in order to verify the characteristics that resemble and differentiate them from each other. In these narratives seek to highlight the main facts that are peculiar in middle age heroes like: morality, loyalty, justice, strength and courage. The related issue is being approached to represent a part of Brazil's cultural history in the Romantic period, explained in José de Alencar and compared to Alexandre Herculano of Portuguese literature. The work was done through literature searches, to give support and truth to our contents. In this perspective, indigenous representation in the novel "Ubirajara" is to emphasize the stage where Brazil started to aggrandize their culture and the search for national identity becomes the main goal, the Indian are the medieval knight.
