MULHERES BRASILEIRAS NA EDUCAÇÃO MATEMÁTICA

Abstract

O presente estudo destina-se a realizar e documentar uma pesquisa narrativa e bibliográfica acerca das principais contribuições das mulheres no âmbito educacional, excepcionalmente, na matemática. Diante disso, os objetivos permeiam a pesquisa através das contribuições realizadas por mulheres na área matemática na história geral e do Brasil, e também de acordo com os prêmios conquistados em sociedades brasileiras de matemática. Ressalta-se que a motivação pela escolha temática se dá ao fato da importância em evidenciar e fornecer o devido prestígio ao trabalho feminino na matemática. Portanto, o seguinte trabalho se manifesta em prol da relevância das mulheres durante a história da matemática, analisando suas contribuições, as quais tendem a permanecer em esquecimento devido às características sociais da época, que não reconheciam o esforço e talento destas devido seu sexo, uma cultura do patriarcado que infelizmente ainda perdura até os dias atuais. Neste sentido, esta pesquisa tem abordagem bibliográfica e de revisão de literatura narrativa, tendo a finalidade de narrar acerca dos resultados obtidos. Contudo, o estudo mostrou as realizações de educadoras brasileiras que se propuseram a estudar e pesquisar a respeito do ensino da matemática ao longo do tempo, mesmo passando por diversas desigualdades sociais, devido ao seu gênero. Também foram expostas mulheres que contribuíram e fizeram parte da construção da história da matemática. Por fim, foram evidenciados os prêmios brasileiros conquistados por mulheres na Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática (SBM). _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The present study is intended to carry out and document a narrative and bibliographic research about the main contributions of women in the educational field, exceptionally, in mathematics. In view of this, the objectives permeate the research through the contributions made by women in mathematics in general history and in Brazil, and also according to the awards won in Brazilian mathematical societies. It should be noted that the motivation for choosing the theme is due to the importance of highlighting and providing due prestige to women's work in mathematics. Therefore, the following work manifests itself in favor of the relevance of women during the history of mathematics, analyzing their contributions, which tend to remain in oblivion due to the social characteristics of the time, which did not recognize their effort and talent due to their gender, a culture of patriarchy that unfortunately still lasts until the present day. In this sense, this research has a bibliographic approach and a narrative literature review, with the purpose of narrating about the results obtained. However, the study showed the accomplishments of Brazilian women who proposed to study and research about the teaching of mathematics over time, even going through various social inequalities, due to their gender. Women who contributed and were part of the construction of the history of mathematics were also exposed. Finally, the Brazilian awards won by women at the Brazilian Society of Mathematics (SBM) were highlighted.
